According to a report in this week's Ruislip & Northwood Gazette, Brentford are said to be showing an interest in signing Hayes' 6ft 5in French goalkeeper, Bertrand Bossu.
The 22-year-old Bossu, joined the Ryman Premier Division outfit whilst they were still a Nationwide Conference club, from fellow non-leaguers Barnet in the summer of 2001, after originally appearing on loan for the Church Road oufit during the previous campaign.
Now out of contract and looking for a step up into the football league, Bossu originally from Calais and who also had a spell on loan at Nationwide Division Two newcomers Rushden & Diamonds during their non-league days, was voted player of the year by both the Hayes supporters and the club's youth section last season.
WILL BOSSU BECOME A BEE?
BEE HIVE RUMOUR MILL RATING 4/10.
NB. The editor feels that the signing of Bossu can be viewed as unlikely, if only due to the fact that Brentford already has two excellent young goalkeepers currently at the club, in Paul Smith (The Bee Hive player of the season for 2002/03 as voted by you the readers) and Northern Ireland U21 starlet, Alan Julian.
However, Bees' manager Wally Downes may have other ideas, watch this space!
