How will last seasons contenders react to their playoff disapointment?
How will the relegated sides cope with League One football?
Can any of the promoted sides stay up?
Will any of the mid-table sides come climbing up to suprise us all?
Brentford's first opponents fall into the third category, Scunthorpe were promoted automatically last season and looked a decent side after leading for a long stretch, but how will they adjust to being back in League One, we hear from one of their fans and editor of scunthopre-united.co.uk Chris.
1. How do you assess your chances this season?
It will be tough. There's a lot of good solid teams in this league and almost everyone is aiming for promotion. There is nobody settling for obscurity, so it will be a tight league. But I don't think we'll go down. Mid-table is more likely.
2. Are you happy with your new signings, sad about your departures, etc...?
Tommy Johnson has alot of pedigree and could prove a quality addition, alot depends on if he steers clear of injuries. Should he do, I'd expect a solid year from him. Jim Goodwin from Stockport (who will miss Saturday's game throuhg injury) should also prove a good addition.
We will miss Paul Hayes' goals, but maybe not his lack of work ethic. Richard Kell will also be missed, but life moves on and I am fully confident in the replacements, though it would have been nice to add more to the squad.
3. Who will be the key man this season?
Tommy Johnson. The defence is solid enough and if Tommy gets amongst the goals like he's proven in the past we could well surprise alot of people. Players like Andy Butler, Andy Crosby and Ian Baraclough maintaining their superb form will also be vital too.
4. Do you think Brian Laws is the man for the job?
He proved last season that he is a good manager by getting us promoted, and if he does the same again this year not many will be complaining.
5. How do you assess Saturday's game with the Bees?
A real toughy. As hard a start to the season as we could have hoped. I'd be happy with a draw.
6. Score prediction?
