Defeating Southend 2-0 last night was a big step forward for the football club in the words of the boss and he feels that Brentford are succeeding on and off the pitch.
With the huge Charlton FA Cup tie coming up this weekend, Allen's side go into the game with memories of last seasons sixth round defeat at Southapton but the boss believes his players have progressed well throughout the year,
"The players now are more experienced and they are starting to get the hang of coping with the extra publicity," Allen said.
"Not just on the pitch but off it as well the players are mature and a credit to the club."
"They are doing well to handle the interest that comes with success and they are a good group of people."
