Martin Allen was in buyant mood this morning when speaking to the press. His body language told the same story as he words, he was delighted that Brentford put the bad performance at Bournmouth behind them and came up trumps in the North East this weekend.
"It was a good weekend." said the boss,
"The team played superbly on Saturday. They worked very very hard without the ball and played with confidence."
After a resounding defeat in the league the week before the Brentford manager was pleased his extra training and their win over Rochdale in the cup had vitalised his flagging players,
"The self belief and positivity was great to see. Each and every player played his part including those on the side with me not just those part of the eleven. To hear them encoraging and motivating in the dressing room and on the bench was a good sign."
Allen went on something as a scouting mission yesterday as he watched the u14's play, today he was watching the reserves who won 4-0.
Allen reported that he is going to watch Oldham play this week against Chasetown in the cup so he can begin making plans for Saturday's game at Griffin Park a game which he is already looking forward to.
