In the 1999, Brentford signed a relatively unknown Icelander called Herman Hreidarsson. Although this seemed a relatively risky transfer at the time the 700,000 which we paid for me seemed a bargin for a player who in his one season with the Bees proved to be a great asset in the quest for sucess down at Griffin Park. Under the guideance of Ron Noades he scored 8 goals for Brentford after his move from Crystal Palace. After provign himself worthy of the adulation of the fans, in 2000 Herman moved to Wimbledon in a move which saw Brentford recieve 2.5Million pounds. A true gentleman on and off the pitch the 'iceman' was one of the 10 internations who have played their football for the red and white stripes.
