A late consolation goal from Frampton was not enough to rescue anything more than pride for Martin Allen's side as Wednesday now progress to the final in Cardiff ready to play for a place in the Championship next season against either Tranmere or Hartlepool.
Despite the defeat we heard first from the manager on his thoughts over the two legs.
What the manager said?
Martin Allen was disapointed not to make it through to the end of season show piece but accepted the Owls were the better side,
"They were the favourites for a reason, the came here and played some good football probably the best that's been played against us at Griffin Park this year."
"It's just a case of so near but yet so far, we did well and I'm proud of the players, the curse of the playoffs strikes again, hopefully we'll come back better than ever next season and we'll be ready from day one"
What the players said?
Understandably the players were gutted at going out in the semi finals but as Deon Burton told us, they still have reasons to be proud,
"Although obviously the trophy cabinet doesnt show it we've achieved this season, we made the playoffs and did very well in the cup. I hope the players can take heart from this and we'll be looking to go one step futher next season"
Darren Pratley told us he had enjoyed his first playoff experience despite defeat,
"As I've said before I've enjoyed 1st team football this season but these last two games have been something special, its disapointing that we couldnt fin but both games in their own way have been amazing, the support from both sets of fans in both games has been unbelieveable"
Stuart Nelson also look forward to next season,
"It's unfortunate that our season stops here but we'll be looking forward to the next one as soon as we start training, thats the only way to stop the hurt, go back and prove that we are good enough to play in the Championship"
