Allen nominated amongst London's top personalities

It isn't very often that Brentford football club of any of it's staff gets mentioned outside the realms of League One, however for his excellent achievement's in leading Brentford to the latter stages of the FA Cup, fourth place in the League and the Play Off semi finals, Martin Allen has been nominated in the running for London's sports personality of the year.

The prize will be announced on sunday a week before the nationwide competition and Allen is up against stiff competition in all conquering Jose Mourinho and Ashes' winner Andrew Strauss.

Flattered brentford boss Martin Allen said,

"It's been a really great year for me, many ups and many downs but that's part of life"

"I dont think for a minute that i'll win but I must say I was suprised and very happy to have been put forward."
