Allen left Brentford just over two weeks ago without communicating his departure the fans though Greg Dyke confirmed that the successful stretch which Allen had participated in as Brentford manager had run its course because of financial reasons.
However it now appears that with Allen set to take his place as MK Dons manager he will be encountering much worse financial conditions than he ever would have at Griffin Park.
The history behind the Wimbledon to MK Dons transformation is well known and with the club still not owning their own ground, suffering from low attendences combined with the club being relegated from League One Allen's talks with the MK board appeared to be fruitless from a Dons point of view.
A local peper today suggests that Allen was in town on friday for talks with Don's chairman Pete Winkelman and it now appears that Martin will be unvailed as MK Dons manager when he returns from holiday in just short of two weeks.
The chairman himself stated,
"A deal is not yet done but I am confident that we will have a new manager in place soon"
Terms and conditions are still to be ironed out with Brentford concerned that they will not be able to recieve full compensation because of the MK Dons cash situation.
For the Dons themself it is a result who saw two managers reject their hot seat last week as Exeter boss Alex Inglethorpe turned them down shortly after Mark Stimson chose to join Stevenage instead of the Milton Keynes club.
Allen will no doubt be joined in the MK job by Adrian Whitbreat and Damien Doyle who were with the boss at Brentford.
