Brentford travel to the ground of fellow Premier League side Everton in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday afternoon.
The 132-year entity has never won a major cup competition in its history. Brentford have only reached the fifth round of England's premier knockout tournament once in the last decade and a half, which came under the stewardship of their current boss Thomas Frank.
Here's the XI he may deploy to reach that staging post once again.
Brentford predicted lineup vs Everton - FA Cup
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Jonas Lossl (GK) - David Raya's return to action in a club friendly with Aston Villa has cast some doubt over the involvement of January arrival Lossl going forward.
Kristoffer Ajer (CB) - The club-record arrival made his much-anticipated comeback in the previous round of the FA Cup following a ten-week absence.
Pontus Jansson (CB) - The enigmatic captain is the only player to have started every Premier League match Brentford have ever contested.
Mads Bech Sorensen - With Ethan Pinnock on international duty with Jamaica in the same week as Brentford's trip to Merseyside, Frank may well plump for the Danish stand-in.
2. Midfielders & wingbacks
Mads Roerslev (RWB) - One of three players named Mads that started the season in Brentford's squad, that close-knit trio (off the pitch as well as nominally) has been reduced to two after the loan of Mads Bidstrup.
Shandon Baptiste (CM) - Given they were only introduced to English league football three decades after the club's relegation in 1947, Baptiste became the first ever Brentford player to receive a top flight red card earlier this season.
Christian Norgaard (CM) - The Premier League's leading exponent of tackles, pressures and recoveries is an irreplaceable cog at the base of midfield.
Vitaly Janelt (CM) - Given the responsibility of captaining the team that breezed past Port Vale in the third round at the tender of age of 23.
Sergi Canos (LWB) - While Rico Henry's involvement remains doubtful, Canos may well be ushered to the flank from where he caused such creative chaos in Brentford's final push for promotion last season.
3. Forwards
Bryan Mbeumo (ST) - The 22-year-old's 21-minute hat-trick sealed Brentford's progression to this stage of the cup as he became the first substitute to net three times in the competition for seven years (per Opta).
Ivan Toney (ST) - The dressing room DJ recorded his 15th successfully converted penalty in this season's reverse fixture with Everton. (Toney has only missed one of the 20 spot kicks in his career.)
