Brentford to retail 3rd kit

The pre orders of the new home kit are up on last year but will the demand be high enough for a Brentford 3rd kit to be released?

The seasons first Q and A session highlighted several interestingissues concerning the football club, all the answers can be seen on the official website, however most interesting to the fans was the news that the release of the 3rd kit will depend on the demand for it's sale.

Two people wrote into the club over the past couple of days asking if and when the kit will be released, despite Brentford wearing the kit in two out of two pre season games, it seems as though no official plans have been made for it's public release.

Merchandising manager Mike Pay said,

"Our experience with third strips is not paticularily good, it usuall doesnt sell very well. When we made the orders for the 2005/06 kit in January we did not expect that there would be a third kit released."

He continued,

"The black kit does seem to be liked by the fans and if the team wear it alot the demand for it is likely to grow. The minumum quantity for order is 500 so this would mean that it wouldnearly double the orders of home and away kits, which is unlikely, however we will make a decision at the end of this month and then the kit may be available by November"
