Striker Baz Savage will not be part of the Tranmere squad, despite being near to full fitness.
Gareth Edds (concussion) misses out, meaning Alan Mahon or Charlie Barnett could replace him in midfield.
Tranmere manager Les Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside:
"Brentford tend to keep it tight home and away and that's why they draw a lot of games.
"With teams like Brentford you don't go there expecting to hit them on a counter attack all the time, as it's just as likely they'll hit you on the counter attack.
"But it's more reason for us to go there and hope we can actually nick something."
