After a turbulent week in West London, Martin Allen and Brentford put their financial woes behind them for 90 minutes as the brushed aside Hartlepool with an impressive one goal victory.
Two under pressure forwards, led the lind this afternoon and goals from Owusu and Campbell helped contain some of the flack which they have been reciving in recent weeks.

What the manager said?
Martin Allen spoke to the press with a big smile across his face this evening after his teams win at Victoria Park,
"Of course I'm pleased," said the boss
"But I'm not going to get carried away. The boys deserved their result today and they deservedly recieve praise from me and my staff."
The boss was pleased by the teams application to their task today,
"I thought all over the pitch we dominated. They had a spell of pressure but I was always confident that if we made a decent chance the boys would put it away and we'd go onto win the game."
Allen also praised his strikers after their goals today,
"I've put the pressure on Dudley and Lloyd in recent weeks and today they've come up trumps, that was the most pleasing thing for me"
What the players said?
The players felt that they had put in maximum effort today, speaking on their behalf Stuart Nelson said,
"The boys have been criticised in the last couple of weeks from within and we felt we owed the fans a performance, hopefully now this can be our spring board and we can start getting some good results and a high level of consistency"
John Mousinho, who had been called back from loan to cover for injuries said,
"It was great to be involved in the squad, Hartlepool are a great side but today we seemed to have the edge over them. Our play was relly intense and I dont think they could handle us."
What the fans said?
Stuart Marshall a Hartlepool fan said,
"Brentford are a very physical side, I dont think we were prepared for the battle we were involved in today. Though we had our chances I though we deserved to get beaten as Brentford also created many good oppertunities."
John Partner told me,
"I think the Bees deserved to claim the 3 points today, the game was pretty even but we've had some bad luck over recent weeks and haven't really got what we've deserved so it was good today to be rewarded for out hard work"
