Brentford manager Scott Fiztgerald was flowing in his praise of you forward Charlie Ide as he discussed the weekend's result against Leyton Orient.
The boss had admitted in previous weeks that goal scoring had been a real burdon on his side and with Lloyd Owusu still out through injury he was looking for a replacement in the transfer window. Still with some deals to complete however Fitzgerald took a gamble on Ide which paid off with hansom results,
"Charlie is a centre forward, through and through, but he was playing out of position for us on Saturday"
"He's a natural goalscorer who's scored goals at whatever level."
The Brentford manager also revealed that he was going to make changes at half time but decided to stick with his starting line up which paid dividends,
"I was going to change things at half time but decided to give it another five minutes. I've every faith in Charlie, he's very self critical in training and everything he does."
"If he's not scored he beats himself up and I as much as that disapointment is good, I dont want him to go over the top"
He also backed Ide to continue improving,
"He's scored three goals in the last seven or eight games and I'm really really pleased for him"
