Brentford manager Scott Fitzgerald confirmed today that his side had recieved a blow in their bid to fight relegation as top scorer Jo Kuffour had his ban upheld despite and appeal from the club.
Kuffour was sent off for a bad tackle in the weekends 1-1 draw with Bradford but had hoped to be given a reprieve following an appeal but the Football League chose not to rescind the card and impose the maximum three game ban for a straight red card.
A statement from the club said,
"Clearly Jo is a valuable player and he will be missed"
Though reports to the contrary suggested otherwise, Kuffour will miss the games against Scunthorpe United, Bristol City and Rotherham.
