Firstly he spoke about his delight that senior staff member Scott Fitzgerald has signed a new one year contract to be next year's youth team manager. Allen said,
"It makes me happy to be able to give people a chance when they finish their playing career at this stage in their life. Fitz has done and will continue to do well, he is largely responsible for the youth players you saw against Hull during the last game of the season."
Martin also talked about sadness about the week which has taken place, paticularily the events of monday when he released several players from the club. He is ensuring that these players will be replaced and that everything will be ready for next season sooner rather than later.
The manager also revealed that he is very close to several deals and will be annoucing them hopefully when he returns from his family holiday next week. He has been meeting with new chief exec Andrew Finch and has been discussing plans for the future, he is very pleased as they seem to be very much on the same wave length.
He finally thanked supporters for their letters and emails over the last couple of days, he promises to respond to a large number when he gets the chance but appologises to those who he has not done yet.
