Defeated 1-0 by bottom club Rotherham at Griffin Park yesterday, Brentford now face an even tougher challenge if they are to stay in League One.
Of the teams around them, only Cheltenham picked up a positive result but with the League's bottom club Millers sure to get a boost thanks to Delroy Facey's goal, Scott Fitzgerald and Brentford have a massive task on their hands, still six points from safety and facing a crucial game next Sunday against Oldham at Griffin Park.
On the positive side however the Bees welcomed backed Lloyd Owusu for his first appearance since last April and the club will also be able to include top scorer Jo Kuffour in their squad next week after he completed a three match suspension.
On the back of yesterday's performance Fitzgerald said,
"Obviously the mood in the changing room wasn't great but we'll keep fight"
"As I've said all along, it's still in our hands"
The Brentford boss was pleased to welcome back the Ghana International Owusu but said,
"He's not ready to take part in a full game yet but his return gives us options up front. Scoring goals is what is going to get us out of this position and with the addition of Lloydy and Jo next week, we'll be ready to go again."
