On his daily update to the official website, Martin Allen took time out to speak to the fans about the games against Yeading and Weymouth.

After the Bees first pre-season reverse Allen was pleased with the way his young players reacted after tasting defeat on Monday.

The boss said,

"Last night at Weymouth we had six youth players and five squad players and they showed great commitment"

Heading home with the team ahead of Saturday's last pre season friendly before the start of the League One season Allen said,

"Monday's performance against Yeading was flat. I thought they were faster to the ball, hungrier and showed more desire. This was a lesson to the players that confirms success will not only come with a good attitude and talent alone."

Today as mentioned yesterday Allen spoke about his plans for a scouting mission,

"This afternoon Whit and I are on our way up to Scunthorpe in readiness for the start of the season. All the players are off today to rest and freshen up and I'm hoping for a strong convicing performance to boost confidence on Saturday"
