Martin Allen posted his comments on the official website this morning after seeing his side beaten twice in two games by lower league opposition, the boss was understandably more than disapointed with the performance at Woking on saturday,
"I think it's fair to say the performance was not up to the standard required, I made my feelings clear to the players, friendly or no friendly only the very best will do."
The boss however spoke at his pride in the way his inexperienced side performed yesterday,
"We fielder a young team plus Marcus and Stuart because I felt they needed the games. Overall we dominated but simply couldnt find the goal which would have killed them off. It was a good experience for our young players."
The manager however warned,
"There must be significant improvement in the week ahead when we play three games in nine days. It is imperative that we get off to a good start."
The players are off today but will be training through till friday to get ready for as Allen puts it, 'performances that will win points'.
Allen finished off today by announcing the arrival of a new groundsman, Tom who was a good friend of Allen's moved on to take up a new position and has been replaced by Matt Forst who will be taking care of the pitch at Griffin Park from now on, Allen commented,
"He seems to be a good signing and most definately not just a 9 to 5 man I am looking forward to working with him."
