Martin Allen will be looking to add to his squad after another two departures took the total to nine
Martin Allen in his usual update to the official website this afternoon, gave his usual thoughts on how well the club is progressing through the Summer.

He also gave news to the fans about departures which will be taking place at the club over the next couple of days. Firstly Matt Harrold who was mostly in reserve last season agreed to join Yeovil Town on a two year contract today. The player had spent a loan spell at Grimbsy scoring two goals, in an attempt to play his way back into contention for this season, however despite the departure of Deon Burton, the arrival of Lloyd Owusu meant that Harrold felt his chances would be extremely limited in the first team.

Allen said,

"Matt has done fantastically well at Brentford at at time has filled in at several different positions for us, without any problems. He is a good professional and a very good person and I hope this move helps him to realise his ambition"

In explaining Harold's move the boss said,

"Unfortunately Matt missed the whole of last season's pre season and found it difficult therefore to break into the first team. But no one should forget the role that he played in 'The Great Escape' in 2004 and he will certainly be always welcome at this club for that'

Allen also confirmed that Chris Hargreaves will be leaving the club in the near future but his destination is still undecided. The boss said,

"He will be making a decision on Monday about which club he will join. He has several offers on the table and now has the weekend to make up his mind"

Martin also yet again told fans he was looking forward to the new season,

"All the professionals will be starting back at training tomorrow and should anybody wish to make a visit we will be also training on Saturday."

Look out for an exclusive interview with some of the players on Monday as I am hoping to speak to some of the players at training about their hopes for the season.
