With one last hope of proving himself to the Ghanaian International coach Owusu also claimed it was his move to Brentford which has put him in with a chance of revisiting Germany for this Summers World Cup Finals,
"I've had a couple of caps before and it was a great experience. But it's down to Brentford, all the guys here and the gaffer that this has happened."
He spoke about his reluctance to leave Reading during pre season but said,
"I could have still been at Reading as I still had a year left on my contract but I hadn't been playing regularly for a couple of years and knew I needed to be playing 40 or 45 games a season.
"There's no doubt Ghana was on my mind when I moved. I knew they were on the verge of qualification for the World Cup and I wanted people to know that Lloyd Owusu was still around and still scoring goals."
