Announcing his departure to the official website Gary Peters said,
"I was aware that Leroy was still keen to get a managers job and if the right one was up for offer I would have been a fool to not see it coming."
He paid tribute to the Brentford manager stating,
"I am delighted for Leroy as I really got on with him and I really like him and its not my job to make sure I get someone in who can replace him adequately"
