But Carl Cort's leveller two minutes later sealed a deserved point for the Bees, only leaving Scott to rue their below par start to the contest.
"We started off quite slowly and that is something we need to look at," he said.
"In the first 20 minutes MK Dons were the better side, but in the second half we picked up the momentum only to get kicked in the teeth.
"The fact that we refused to lay down and take it shows that we have players determined and committed to the cause."
