Martin Scott and his Hartlepool side are likely to be difficult opponents.
New Hartlepool manager Martin Scott believes that League One is open more open than ever before and insits his side will not lower their standards in a bid to win promotion this season.

"Our aim is to win League One, I'm not saying we'll do that because so much competition but that is our aim for the season" said Scott.

Hartlepool were beaten finalists in last seasons playoff final and believe that all three beaten teams plus the three relegated teams from the Championship will most likely make up the top six.

"Tranmere finished streets ahead last year but we beat then so they'll no doubt be challenging for the top, with sides like Brentford and ourselves plus Gillingham, Walsall and Forest this League could be won by anyone. Not forgetting the teams who missed out last year like Bournmouth and Bristol and just behind them were Bradford and Doncaster who are likely to be strengthened it's a tough call."
