Last night Martin Allen sent a message to the fans letting them know the good news,
"Sam is absolutely thrilled to have recieved the call up, as is his manager. It is certainly a first for me and a good sign for the future."
The defender's form this year has earned him praise from all corners of football and Allen said,
"On Saturday at Hartlepool he was outstanding. He was back to his best, decisive, determined, he was really quite acceptional."
"His rise from Conference football has been quite meteoric but there is still more to come from him this season."
The defender's potential team mates are playing away to Romania this week and Allen finished by saying,
"I will announce the special news to the players tomorrow morning at the training ground and he will no doubt recieve a standing ovation"
