Brentford may be glad that in less than half an hour the transfer window closes as the League One high flyers have been at the centre of several transfer stories this evening.
With the departure of DJ Campbell to pastures new after just seven months at the club, central defender Sam Sodje nearly became the latest Bees player to fly the hive.
Allen said,
"We agreed a fee at tea time but Sam decided to stay and we are very pleased with his decision"
After an excellent season last year being named player of the year Sodje had attracted attention from Premiership clubs Blackburn and West Ham who were looking to add the impressive Nigerian to their squad. However no deal took place and once more Sodje has been excellent for the Bees.
His form has been a major reason why Brentford are in fifth place in the league and in the FA Cup fifth round and the supporters will no doubt be delighted that he has made the decision to stay.
