Though not quite as active as Harry Redknapp or his Premiership counterparts Martin Allen today manaeged to tie up two deals concerning players at Brentford.
Allen clearly felt that the current squad is strong enough and did not require new chairman Greg Dyke to dip into his pockets to strengthen in the January window.
Firstly the boss agreed to the extension of Michael Dobson's loan deal at Reading which will now run out at the end of the season. With the Royals flying high in the Championship Dobson has started three of his five available games since his move.
Signing on for the Bees today is the excellent John Mousinho who Allen has praised highly following his excellent performances in the FA Cup and League campaign for the Bees. The youngster's deal was cemented on the back of an excellent game against Sunderland at the weekend. The two year deal is to last until 2008 as Allen looks to use youth as a bolster to his current first team squad.
