Liked by fans for his friendly approach. Gibbo made the leftback position his own after the injury to Ijah last season. He was about to sign for Brentford for £100,000 after Brentford won promotion from the 3rd Division, but his final game for Plymouth saw him break a leg and he feared his career was all but over. Gibbo worked hard to get fit, and Brentford signed him on a Bosman last summer. His injury has taken away his pace and this has probably effected his playing style – he can no longer get up and down the pitch like he used too. Gibbs is better attacking – like Jay Lovett and will probably find it hard to be a regular this season. He does specialise at set pieces and this may work in his favour come next season. Trandy You can’t help but like and have admiration for Gibbo. If everyone possessed the same sort of commitment and will to win as Paul then you wouldn’t have too much to complain about. Hasn’t quite reached the levels I expected though, but refuses too hide. It’s little wonder then why every former club speaks so highly of him. Also a top bloke off the field. Richard Hester |

Meanwhile, not many fans will be disappointed with the news of Mark McCammon. He hasn't performed to how many had hoped after signing from Charlton two seasons back. His full record is below:

Bought from Charlton last season by Ron Noades, and apparently Mark Mc was the answer to our problems – unfortunately this just hasn’t happened and the player looks a poor player, with fans asking for him to be offloaded. Maybe Mark suffers from the problem of having a big fee around his neck like Scotty Marshall, but his attitude is probably not what it should be. My memories of Mark last season are of him lining up at Woking in front of my for a burger half drunk with a bottle of bud. My other memories of him are after Swindon on boxing day, when he had just warmed down by running around the pitch 8 times, but refused to stretch because it was “cold”. Im afraid Mark isn’t the answer – prove me wrong Mark! Trandy The biggest disappointment so far of the Noades regime. I must admit to being fairly impressed following his debut performance at Northampton last year. Since then though, I have seen very little to justify his reputed price tag of around three hundred grand. Can’t believe we’ll see anything different this time and wouldn’t be surprised if he left on a free and dropped down a division. Having said that, I’m sure his confidence is at rock bottom. Get a few lucky strikes under his belt and we could well see a different player. Somebody somewhere must have seen some sort of potential to force Ron to shelve so much money mustn’t they? Some good news though. Rumours has also suggested that Ijah Anderson had been given a free, but the club have denied this. Steve Hunt has also signed a new contract - apparently with another 7 youth team players.
