Brentford's 100% home record was blown away by Blackpool as a double strike by John Murphy and a second half Scott Taylor effort gave the Seasiders only their third win of the season.
Winless at home, Blackpool were under some early Bees pressure, but Martin Allen's men lacked the killer touch in the final third which was eventually to prove costly.
Jamie Lawrence saw his early shot go too close to Lee Jones in the Blackpool goal and practically with their first attack of the match, the visitors were ahead.
Brentford gave too much space and time to a neat exchange of passes between Rick Wellens and Taylor who then found Murphy for him to score from close range.
The passage of play was all Brentford now, who had been stung into action by falling behind, and they should have levelled on 26 minutes, but Deon Burton could only shoot tamely wide after neatly chesting down John Salako's cross.
Isaiah Rankin then did well to hold up the ball on the edge of the box only to see his effort go straight at Jones after 30 minutes.
A spectacular Jones save from a Christian Hargreaves header three minutes later kept the Seasiders in front at the break as the Bees pressure was to prove fruitless.
Blackpool went two-up on 53 minutes as Murphy was again given far too much room at the back post as he thundered in a header from Paul Edwards' corner.
Ten minutes before the end, Taylor received a good pass from Wellens on the right and coolly curled his shot past Stuart Nelson from 10 yards.
