Brentford 2-4 Ipswich: Match Report - view commentary, squad, and statistics of the game as it happened.Ipswich too good for BrentfordIpswich continued their charge for a top-two finish in the Sky Bet Championship with an emphatic 4-2 win at in-form Brentford.A brace from Daryl Murphy and one apiece from Paul Anderson and Tommy Smith were too much for a Bees side that looked strangely out of sorts.Brentford substitute Sam Saunders added some respectability to the scoreline with two late strikes, but it was always a canter for the Tractor Boys as they picked up their 12th league win of the season.Despite dominating possession for large periods, Brentford were often second to the ball against a well-drilled Ipswich side who always looked capable of going up a gear. And Mick McCarthy's men got off to the perfect start after just two minutes when a poor clearance dropped for Anderson who fed Murphy and he made no mistake from the edge of the box.Midway through the half it was 2-0, Murphy outmuscling Brentford centre-back Tony Craig to run on and round keeper David Button before slotting home.On the half-hour Anderson made it an almost unassailable lead, ghosting in at the far post to sidefoot former Bee Jay Tabb's low left-wing cross home from close range and make it 3-0.The hosts tried to respond with a low shot from Jota that stung keeper Bartoz Bialkowski's fingers, while Andre Gray saw his header just before the break parried at the second attempt. But Ipswich emerged from the interval intent on maintaining their high pressing game and Murphy tested Button with a low drive two minutes in.Alan Judge saw a shot stopped by the visiting keeper midway through the second half, but it was an effort too few and far between for the expectant home crowd. The Bees looked far from their best and had to wait until the 80th minute to get on the scoresheet, replacement Saunders seeing his angled drive loop over Bialowski and into the far corner. But a minute later clinical Town restored the three-goal cushion when Smith shook off a half-hearted Nick Proschwitz tackle to stride on and rifle a drive high into the top right corner.Brentford fans who had seen their side win seven of their last eight at least went home slightly happier after seeing Saunders make it 4-2 with an opportunist strike after Proschwitz's turn and shot was blocked, but it was scant consolation
